hey tina –

you should know that you have to book pretty far ahead these days, so while you *could* go to arthur’s and look up (or head up the stairs to what seems like it will be an accounting — or at least some sort of numbers-type — firm [ my memory fails me]), it won’t do much good if you’re trying to actually get your locks lopped. so i suggest calling first: 513-502-5293. currently his wife is doing his scheduling, and she’s at home with a little ‘un, so you may hear toddler racket in the background. it’s all part of the charm that is sam.

and while you may not get a glass of wine, you *will* get an arm & hand massage. ummmmmm.

I too have been searching for a special someone to do my hair since I moved to Cinci. I could always count on my last stylist for a glass of wine and a killer scalp massage. No such luck since the move. Are there any other details I should know about Sam? Or shall I simply head for Arthur’s and look up?

Just wanted to point out how Cincinnati’s identity is incredibly linked to its borderland geography. As a predominant city along the historic border between slavery and freedom, Cincinnati is an incredibly unique conglomerate of multiple identities (see Race and the City by Henry Louis Taylor available through Google Books!).
